friday fancys | saturday

Let's stop talking about that stink in' dress starting NOW!  Cheers to the freakin' weekend!  Who's done with this week already?  *raises both hands*  We should start a petition to make Monday part of the weekend, no?  For the past I don't know how many months, I've been working every Saturday morning unless I have previously requested off for an event of some sort or it was so last minute that nothing productive could be planned ahead of time. Therefore I have not been able to have some family time at home with the husband and get some projects finished because by the time I get home - hubby is on his way to work at his parents restaurant - weekend shot.  Soooo -- I finally have a planned ahead Saturday off of work tomorrow! I'm not even sure what to do with myself - what do I do on a Saturday off?  I went through my list of favorite things to do on Saturdays so this one can be just right - I have quite a...

it's the little things...

I pretty much hate my kitchen. It's like a hospital room. We have done our best to do with what we have but I am running thin over here. It will probably be a few more years until we can do a complete overhaul of the kitchen, so we have just been painting and cleaning the best we can.  If you remember the walls were a painter's tape blue - poor choice... and to compliment - weird white tile with some sort of flower design? No thanks.  On top of this dated tile, we had the worst caulk line EVER.  * WARNING - do not attempt to read further if you are trying to eat a decent meal. We scrubbed and scrubbed at this caulk, but nothing seemed to work.  This is the worst spot - behind the sink. Did I mention I had nothing to do with the condition of this? I merely moved into this chaos!  Blech!  I just really need you to get the idea of how bad this is... I had the brother over one day and I got ...

friday fancys | television sets

Happy Friday all! You made it through the week - can you believe it? I know I barely did.. One of our favorite things to do in our free time is watch television. I don't even want to try and calculate how many hours we spend in front of the TV in a week.  I sometimes watch a show for the drama and sometimes for the design of a set. I have a few favorite show sets and most just so happen to be some of my favorite dramas too:)  1. Witches of East End Although this show has been cancelled recently (pause for moment of silence) - it doesn't change the fact that it has an amazingly put together set. The main family lives in a massive Victorian home that has adorable charm. You can see the attention to detail in this house - detailed trim, beautiful transom windows, everything!  My favorite space is the kitchen, but every room has amazing design - even the library that one character works at!  Who wouldn't love to just have a cup of tea in this l...

friday fancys | loves

It's Friday again!   I was going to post in honor of 50 Shades of Grey coming out today, but I felt that posting about Valentine's Day would be slightly more appropriate. So, in celebration of this ridiculously worshipped holiday - I bring you all of my LOVES.  love | MOVIE Of course I have two favorites:)  I have a love for Drew and also a love for Chicago:)  I can honestly say I've watched both at least 100 times and can recite the entire script of NBK.. love | FLOWER Peonies! If anyone, ahem, plans on getting my flowers tomorrow - they better start with a "P" and end with "eonies".. love | PATTERN Herringbone. Obsessed. If I could incorporate Herringbone in every square inch of the home - I would. I love this pattern in wood flooring (pictured), tile, fabrics etc. Herringbone is a very classic and timeless pattern and you can't go wrong with it in your design:) love | PUP ...

weekend update | quickie

This morning has been somewhat crazy.  50% was spent [attempting to] fix a water leak behind the fridge.. 30% was spent narrating our dog's morning for her.  [who else does this for their pets? Please tell me I'm not the only one...] 15% was spent picking which breakfast plate had the better pile of cheesy eggs 5% was spent eating bacon Can you believe its only 11 and all of that has happened already!  How has your morning been so far?  ... If you haven't already, hop over to Facebook and "Like" my newly created page - Two Two One!  HERE! This is where I will post updates, sneak peeks and tips. If you have any questions yourself, feel free to post them there or you can also email me @ twotwoone1891(at)gmail(dot)com! friday fancys | magazines

Happy Friday Folks! It's that time again - fancy time! One of my favorite things to do in my free time is read through my stacks of magazines - I usually get 5-6 each month - more than half of which are design focused.  Here are some of my favorites: 1. Country Living It's not all about the apples and denim like you may be thinking - country style has really evolved over the last few decades.  I was introduced to CL by a friend and I cringed at the idea of me actually taking this home and reading it. I came around to the idea of it and I really liked most of the trends in here. As you can tell on this front cover - CL works with lots of different textures and colors all in one space and they come together very nicely.  Next time you find yourself in the magazine section in line at the store - flick through a Country Living and let me know if you feel the same way about it as I do:)  2. Better Home and Gardens I've been readin...
