I'm currently blogging from the throne. It's not what you think -- the lid is down and my feet are up.
Once again I have outdone myself.. As you know, January we were hard at work on the upstairs bathroom and we knocked this one out of the park! We are so happy with the results! It's finally a completed space!

Hubs always did say that the upstairs bathroom was his favorite space that I've done thus far so he was a little disappointed when I told him that this was the first project of the year. [if you want to check out the space before, check HERE] I calmly reminded him that we would just be making a few changes as we already have the essentials in the space.
Of course I started the process with a spreadsheet of how I wanted the project to go -- things to buy, projects to complete from the first time around, organization to be finalized etc. I tried to spread out the projects in 4 separate weeks.
The first week we worked on organization - everything was taken out of the closet and cabinet and off of the shelves and put into one room and sorted through. [It may be a smart idea to designate one spare room for all of your things to be spread out so you're not stepping over it or searching for things in random places. For the bathroom we used the "pink" room as our work space. We call it the pink room because... it's pink... ] What do I use regularly, what have I not used in months, what do I pretend to use but know I need to get rid of... etc, etc.
Moving into the second week we dove right into painting and other design projects. I wanted to make a set of shelves which had a few stages before being complete - so I started that then.
Week three was devoted to cleaning - blah. Top to bottom we cleaned the bathroom -- a little extra cleaning than we do on a week to week basis.
My favorite was this last week -- STYLING!! I put the closet back together in a stylish yet functional way and I kinda love it! Of course I will end up rearranging it over time but it is nice to have a plethora of cute baskets and bins to organize my things:) I also tried to set aside some time for blogging the space. BUT as you can see I waited until the last minute...

When I first started planning for the space I went to my Pinterest board. I save things according to rooms so I can look back when I am ready to do the spaces. One thing I struggled with finding was the shower curtain - I have gone through 4 different shower curtains in the 1.5 years of being here! I wanted something that would show the subway tile off and still not be so loud. I am OBSESSED with the shower curtain I came across at Urban Outfitters - OBSESSED!!! Of course the color I have is unavailable but the other colors are still great options too!
So without further ado -- THE BATHROOM!!!
So without further ado -- THE BATHROOM!!!
I'm not sure if I expressed my dying love for my penny tile last time...
Extra storage for under the sink - stylish yet functional:)
The shelves next to the mirror are so versatile - it's been painted 3 different colors and in 3 different spaces and it just meshes well with each one! This is the perfect place for my makeup AND we finally have a place to hang out hand towels!! Finally!
One of our main concerns in the bathroom was storage. Yes, we have a linen closet, but it is literally 1x1.. I hate closets stuffed to the brim with towels and extra toiletries. There are so many different ways that this can be avoided.. We added a few cute shelves that I made with my own two hands -- okay my amazing uncle guided me..
I'm obsessed with them.. obsessed.
I am OBSESSED with my honeycomb shelves! I feel like I am not getting the point across here... I love love LOVE how they turned out and they are perfect to hold littles in the bathroom:)
Hooks on the back of the doors are perfect for towels. Make sure you have solid wood doors before you screw anything into them..
I also get my own hook:)
Detail shot of my ADORABLE shower curtain! I love it. I was worried it was to feminine so we added darker accents to add some masculinity to the space. Husband says he doesn't mind too much though;)
We never really finalized the organization of the linen closet - everything was sort of just thrown in there willy nilly. Now it is super functional and possibly magazine worthy. I still have some work left to make it just right though.
Overall, we just love the space and it fits us very well! We are excited to have a completed space for once and we're even more excited to start on the next one! Until then...

What spaces did you work on this month?
Ready for next month yet??

I found the cutest notepad at Target and it works perfectly for meal planning! It is made by Sugar Paper - obsessed with them..
It is perfect for meal planning and even project planning - that's why I grabbed two!!
It's cute enough to have on the counter and have the grocery list easily accessible throughout the week. I can even jot down meal ideas while I watch tv. No more binders and folders and different lists - everything is all in one place. It doesn't have to be such a daunting task as it was before - this works just right of us!
