Happy Good Friday Peeps!

I am all sorts of giddy today! I am not sure, but I would like to give full credit to my new find - the 60s, 70s & 80s station on My Pandora - it just makes me so happy:)
It could also be because I am currently watching Into the Woods - so picture this post in the form of a musical!

I have been sick on the sofa since Sunday and today was the first day of me feeling good. I hope all of you are lucky enough to have missed that plague that was/is going around!

Lots going on at two two one as of late - the side street that is the entrance to our driveway had a gaping hole in it yesterday morning! I think it was actually a water main break [thank God we have our own well!] but I would like to think it was something more exciting - like a sinkhole.. I'm pretty sure I actually saw a Hummer sticking out, but I can't be positive.
I felt like an old lady staring out the window and checking on the progress all day with my camera. I can't be sure, but I think one of the workers caught me in my towel..

Once again, we are sort of at a stand still on the house but have other things going on outside the home. Our most current venture is our first time at the Historical Society meeting in our town! The meeting was held at the one room schoolhouse where I went to kindergarten:) We went there a few weeks ago for an open house and we were excited to make it to an actual meeting to get some more information about being apart of the "society" part:)
We were definitely the youngest couple there by a few decades..

Even just at this short meeting, we learned a lot about the school district in our town - very interesting actually.

We plan on becoming more a part of the historical society and learning more about the history of our town. If you want information about you town - contact the historical society in your area and inquire about monthly meetings. They are always looking for younger members to join in order to keep it going for years to come.

In other news, our house will be 124 at the end of this month! We will be considering our closing date as the day we celebrate:) I have a few plans up my sleeve that we can hopefully pull off in the upcoming weeks.
I can't believe we have been here almost an entire year! It's crazy to look back and see how far we have come.

One of our big projects for the summer is to tune up our yard - by "tune up" I mean completely demolish and start from scratch.. I can't wait to get some grass planted and color in the yard:) We are always looking for volunteers to help with that as well!

Anyone else have any grand plans for the summer?

Whoa! | Bathroom REupdate

Well it's been pretty damn long since I've given you guys any good stuff lately. I failed miserably at the OCD challenge last year and for that I am sorry. BUT we are back in action and we have decided to stick with working on one room at a time but not necessarily finish in a month's time. This really allows us to focus on one space and pay attention to every detail and really perfect it.  The first project of the year was the main bathroom. You may be saying "Hey, didn't she already do that one?" . Yes. Yes we did. I am a perfectionist and I knew it needed to be done again. I wasn't happy with the wall color and there were too many unfinished projects in the space. It was somewhat embarrassing when we had guests over and it looked like a Sundance film production office (whatever that looks like, I just made that up) exploded in there. I think it wasn't completed for so long because I was sort of scared to do some of the projects that needed to b...

in with the old | my best thrift finds

*as you read through this post, have  Thrift Shop by Ryan Lewis and Macklemore  [link attached] play in the background, as I did when I was posting this:)  My husband is - for lack of a better word - cheap. He means well, but it really puts a wrench in most of my design plans. This just makes me work ten times harder to find the best deal out there and still maintain the integrity of my design.  Where do you go for such deals you ask?  Goodwill, duh!  I'm obsessed. Luckily I can soothe my infatuations less than a mile from my house!  Of course I also take a stop into TJ Maxx that's right next door and Pot Belly's too, but that's a topic for another day..  I usually get to GW once a week and I can definitely tell when I haven't been in awhile. ...wow, it really is sounding like an addiction, huh? First, I scout out the furniture - usually I don't find anything because a) It's already been picked through or b) it's t...

our upstairs bath | total gut

This is probably to biggest demo project on the house. This is the yucky space previously known as "the bathroom". Yes, that is my husband in the reflection:) Apparently we forgot to get better "before" photos.. The dimensions of the room were 4x9--not even wide enough for a tub! So this was our first mission when planning out this tiny bath-make room for tub!  Here's a fun little fact: this is the only room in the house that I didn't step more than 2 feet in the doorway. That's how bad this space was!  Here's some fun demo that I luckily did not have to take part in any of it, not even clean up! This is the view coming from the front bedroom on the house. We also did some knocking down of walls and putting up of walls in this room. Luckily it was big enough and didn't take away too much space.  Little bro, pretending to help with the demo...  And this is the guy who was the muscle in all of this:)  ...
