friday fancys | insta - spiration

 Raise your hand if you love Instagram!
*raises [both] hands*

I follow many design 'grams to keep my mind working even when I'm just doing my morning "scroll". I find myself taking screen shots from many and putting them into a special folder called insta-spiration - helps keep me organized. When I find myself stuck in a design rut, I just pull up my special little album and pull some ideas that way:)

Does anyone do things like this or is this another weird quirk of mine...?

I [currently] am following a total of 426 instagramers on my personal Insta - these are a few of my favorites (among many others).

@theeverygirl

I really don't want to try and sell this one too much because they also have a blog and I'm afraid you all would leave me for this gal...
So with that being said... it's an okay 'gram I guess;)
I mean they've got some nice pics of styling and design. Some decent posts about tips for the average girl - I guess...
;) Just kidding - they're amazing!

@em_henderson

She's ridiculously adorable and it's so annoying..
She was even the winner of HGTV Design Star season 5 - I wanted to win season 5:(!
She has great style and I love her accessorizing - she is not afraid to go "there".
Most things she posts catch my eye and end up in my special little album:)

Absolutely obsessed. EVER. SINGLE. PIC. If you are looking for inspiration for the home - this is where you need to go.  I really don't have much else to say about it, other than it is just perfection.

I had to. I mean he's got the flow that make your booty go clap. [Do I want my booty to go clap...?]
Anyways, besides for his hypnotizing voice... He's hysterical! EVERY. SINGLE. MEME. I crack up every time I see his 'grams. Every time.

I'm not sure if he knows much about design - but he sure knows funny.

Let me just say, if I had oodles of cash - you can find me spending 99% of it here. AMAZING. Just Perfect. Super timeless and classy lighting options, super unique accessories - you name it! Their marketing even makes you want to open your wallets.. These guys know what they have going on, really. Awesome customer service as well - I purchased a few things from their website - because it was basically all I could afford *whomp* - and one of the two piece items was broken when I received it. Being that it seems to be a smaller business, I just knew I was going to have to jump through hoops to get my other salt and pepper shaker. I dreaded the call to their store. Surprise surprise it went smoothly! "You're replacement item is on its way!" Weeks later my item had still not arrived - "I knew it!". *Calls back* "Oh, I'm sorry that happened, I'm just going to resubmit your ENTIRE order at no extra charge" Not only did I receive two MORE shakers, I also received EVERYTHING else in my order - AGAIN! I wished I had ordered more..
If that's not customer service - I'm not sure what is..

How many of these 'grams do you follow already and how many did you just follow after checking them out!

Some others that I love just as much:

every pretty little liar.
most real world stars..
my 16 year old brother.
some teen moms..

. . .

@riflepaperco - amazing paper products
@jujupapers - super cute wallpaper
@tabarkastudio - beautifully unique tiles
@buzztheboston - adorable Boston Terrier (occasionally featured in Domino mag)
@smpliving - adorable lifestyle things

Whoa! | Bathroom REupdate

Well it's been pretty damn long since I've given you guys any good stuff lately. I failed miserably at the OCD challenge last year and for that I am sorry. BUT we are back in action and we have decided to stick with working on one room at a time but not necessarily finish in a month's time. This really allows us to focus on one space and pay attention to every detail and really perfect it.  The first project of the year was the main bathroom. You may be saying "Hey, didn't she already do that one?" . Yes. Yes we did. I am a perfectionist and I knew it needed to be done again. I wasn't happy with the wall color and there were too many unfinished projects in the space. It was somewhat embarrassing when we had guests over and it looked like a Sundance film production office (whatever that looks like, I just made that up) exploded in there. I think it wasn't completed for so long because I was sort of scared to do some of the projects that needed to b...

in with the old | my best thrift finds

*as you read through this post, have  Thrift Shop by Ryan Lewis and Macklemore  [link attached] play in the background, as I did when I was posting this:)  My husband is - for lack of a better word - cheap. He means well, but it really puts a wrench in most of my design plans. This just makes me work ten times harder to find the best deal out there and still maintain the integrity of my design.  Where do you go for such deals you ask?  Goodwill, duh!  I'm obsessed. Luckily I can soothe my infatuations less than a mile from my house!  Of course I also take a stop into TJ Maxx that's right next door and Pot Belly's too, but that's a topic for another day..  I usually get to GW once a week and I can definitely tell when I haven't been in awhile. ...wow, it really is sounding like an addiction, huh? First, I scout out the furniture - usually I don't find anything because a) It's already been picked through or b) it's t...

our upstairs bath | total gut

This is probably to biggest demo project on the house. This is the yucky space previously known as "the bathroom". Yes, that is my husband in the reflection:) Apparently we forgot to get better "before" photos.. The dimensions of the room were 4x9--not even wide enough for a tub! So this was our first mission when planning out this tiny bath-make room for tub!  Here's a fun little fact: this is the only room in the house that I didn't step more than 2 feet in the doorway. That's how bad this space was!  Here's some fun demo that I luckily did not have to take part in any of it, not even clean up! This is the view coming from the front bedroom on the house. We also did some knocking down of walls and putting up of walls in this room. Luckily it was big enough and didn't take away too much space.  Little bro, pretending to help with the demo...  And this is the guy who was the muscle in all of this:)  ...
