When I'm not picking out paint colors or fabric swatches, I'm sanding down old furniture in the driveway. I am either redoing furniture for myself or others to sell at Vintage 202 (check me out on Facebook please!) I do light upholstery, staining or painting of vintage pieces. I love to think of all the many different ways a piece can go - different colors, stains, and/or fabrics. It's so rewarding when I have a piece go home to a happy client:)
This was sort of a spontaneous thing for my aunt and I to do this weekend and I'm so happy we decided to do it!
Here is the before:
This vintage cabinet was going to be great for the office but then I changed my mind and moved it to the dining room, because that's what I do - constantly change my mind.
The two bottom drawers are file drawers and it has plenty of extra storage for extra supplies - because we all know I looooove office supplies.
Here is the finished product:
I decided to go with a slate blue/grey as my color choice and I am pretty happy with it:) The gold hardware compliments it very well:) Mix matching hardware is my new favorite thing to do. When designing, I used to be very match-y match-y and I found myself getting tired of the spaces - now I try to get more of a "collected" look.
Oh, and the legs have little brass caps that add an even more vintage touch! How cute, right?
This little elephant has traveled many places with me and is now gold:)
My plan is to put a mirror above this but it is about 1000 lbs and currently in the garage covered in spiders.
So which do you like better, before or after? ;)
Cheer, y'all!
